About Us

CMSA stands for Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association. We are the largest LGBTQ+ sports non profit in the midwest and in 2018 we expanded to include eSports! We have active eSports leagues for Fortnite, Overwatch, League of Legends League, and Dead by Daylight, Dungeons & Dragons, and now Valorant!

The Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association (CMSA) was established in 1978, and has grown to 14 Sports and supports over 4,500+ athletes across the Chicago region. CMSA athletes play sports at the local, regional, and national level and is the largest LGBTQ+ sports organization in the Midwest.

CMSA eSports was formed in 2020, and is part of the Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association (CMSA), and is currently the largest LGBTQ+ online esports organization hosting weekly tournament play.

The CMSA eSports league exists to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals to participate in online and in-person organized eSport play. We aim to provide a diverse, social community of gamers that encourages camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a lightly competitive atmosphere.

Since its establishment, CMSA eSports has been featured in Gayming Magazine (including being nominated twice for the internationally acclaimed Gayming Award), GoPride, and regularly participated in international charity initiative, ExtraLife.

How do we play?

eSports holds play sessions remotely which occur at the same time and day each week.

Depending on the game, we strive to have players able to play on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, where possible.
