🏔️PEAK LEAGUE RULES🏔️

We are here to climb mountains, have fun, and enjoy each other’s company! These rules are designed to keep things light while maintaining a structured, fun, and supportive environment for all players. Rules will remain flexible throughout the season as we learn & experience together.

📅SEASON DETAILS📅

Season Duration:
6 Weeks (April 12th – May 18th)

Game Night:
Every Monday

Start Time:
7:00 PM CT Sharp

✈️FORMAT OF PLAY✈️

Role Play:
We are all going on vacation together - WOO HOO! What could possibly go wrong on our journey?

Overall Mission:
Players have until 9:30 PM CT (150 minutes) each week to complete as many climb attempts as needed, aiming for the highest climb.

Best Score Submission:
One team captain should post a screenshot to #🏆scoreboard  each night for the entire team. Only post your team's single best result (i.e. team’s highest climb on average) from the night to count toward the weekly leaderboard.

Cut-off:
A climb may last past the end of the league's end time as long as it was started before 9:30PM CT, at the discretion of the team members. All members of the team must be present for the final score to count. Please respect that some folks will not be able to play past the league end time.

Fair Play Settings:
All participants must use the same difficulty setting (to be announced), and there are to be no game-altering mods. Any score achieved using unapproved settings or mods will be disqualified for that week's scoreboard.

Voice Communication:
Plan to use the in-game proximity chat to communicate. Mute yourself on Discord, but please do not “deafen” in the event of needed off-game communication (example, a player crashed out of the game).

Teams:
Teams will be created in advance of each week using a randomizer, and will prioritize pairing you with new teammates each week.

Technical Difficulties:
Technical difficulties may happen that could cause a player to get stuck or crash out. Please use your best judgment on how to proceed. It may not be feasible to restart the current attempt. The affected player can, however, join the subsequent climb.

☎️ATTENDANCE & COMMUNICATION☎️

Communication is key in a chill league! If you can't make it, let us know so we can start on time.

Confirmation:
A poll will be posted each Monday for the following week in ✈️weekly-poll. Plan to respond to the poll with your intent to participate in the following week’s league. Ladimir will reach out for a confirmation the weekend prior to Monday's games if you have not responded to the poll.

Game Night Timing:
6:55 PM CT: All players should be in ✈️🌍Gate 7  ready to board their planes!
7:00 PM CT: Announcements begin.
7:05 PM CT: Team formation and gameplay begins; flights take off!
9:30 PM CT: Game night ends. Gameplay begun before this time can continue to run completion.

Lateness:
If you anticipate being late, please notify #basecamp and tag @Ladimir at least one hour beforehand. Should you be late by more than 10 minutes, the initial ascent attempt will commence without you to avoid delaying others. You are welcome to join your team for any subsequent attempts.

Byes:
Mark that you cannot attend on the weekly poll for weeks that you need a bye. If you need to cancel after confirming your availability, please post in #basecamp immediately and tag @Ladimir. Feel free to invent an elaborate, vacation-cancelling related excuse (e.g., "I have to wash my hair").

No-Call/No-Show:
A "no-call/no-show" occurs if you are absent without communicating your inability to attend before the start time. If a player has more than one "no-call/no-show" without communication, we will assume they are no longer interested and remove them from the roster.

🌵SPORTSMANSHIP🌵

Defining Fun:
We encourage friendly banter, shared frustration over failed climbs, and positive encouragement for others. We're all in this together! Please keep all voice and text communications friendly and supportive.

Role Play:
We encourage you to role-play and have fun with the game. Falling should be scary! Climbing is hard work! Catching a frisbee from 100 meters away is an incredible feat of athleticism!

Don’t Fret:
While the goal is the destination, the spirit of the game is in the journey getting there.

No Scout Left Behind:
It is against the vibe to leave a scout behind unless they no longer have the stamina to continue on. The whole point of playing together is playing together. You can do a solo run or partner up with a duo any other time :).

No Scouting Ahead:
Scouting ahead should only be done a few meters at a time. Otherwise, this counts as "leaving a scout behind."

No Map Pre-Navigating:
Maps in PEAK are generated daily, meaning, one could  play before league night on Mondays and try to pre-scout the best paths in advance.   We ask that you please do not do so as it takes all the fun out of the game and makes the playing field totally unfair.

Streaming:
This league is streamer friendly and will also be streamed to @CMSA eSports League. Please announce to your team if you plan to stream or use clips for personal content and ask for permission. If you do not wish to ever be on a stream, please inform @Banty.

🔥IN CASE OF EMERGENCY🔥

VIBE Check:
Players are required to always pass the vibe by adhering to the conditions of the VIBE CHECK listed below.

Requesting a VIBE Check:
If you feel comfortable, please address a low-stakes behavior with a league member directly in a friendly manner (ex: I noticed you left the group for a long time and we’re supposed to stick together!) If the issue is more severe and needs moderator attention, please inform @Blaine directly.

Conduct Management:
To address serious or repeated issues regarding sportsmanship, we follow a simple, restorative 3-step system:

First Offense:
A Scoutmaster will reach out by text over Discord to relay the issue at hand.

Second Offense:
League Manager will host a private, restorative conversation with the player over voice chat.

Third Offense:
The player will be removed from the League for the remainder of the season.

Right to Accelerate:
These steps can be accelerated at the discretion of the Scoutmaster at any time.

💅THE VIBE CHECK💅

✨ No scout left behind! It is against the vibe to leave a scout behind unless they no longer have the stamina to continue on or if the fog is actively consuming them.

✨ Scouting ahead should only be done a few meters at a time. Otherwise, this counts as leaving a scout behind. Think 2 minutes max separation at a time.

✨ Friendship over competition: Play to peak, but the real joy is in the narratives we build and the friends that we make a long the way.

✨ Be a great sport and helpful to your teammates when in need.

✨ We have a strict no tolerance policy for toxicity during league play or in our communication channels at any time.

✨ Assume best intentions. Try to resolve issues. When all else fails; hit up a Scoutmaster if someone is aggressively not the VIBE.
